Gold Mining
Gold Mining is a special job that lets you mine gold in a dedicated area of the Wasteland.
To start mining, you need to buy special materials and tools. The main tool is the “Gold Pan”, which is used directly while panning gold-bearing soil in the river.
While panning, you get gold nuggets and gold dust. The amount and weight of the resources you get depend on your “Gold Mining” skill level.
Two additional items are used to further process gold dust:
“Aqua Regia” — required for the processing;
“Gold Precipitant” — used together with gold dust and aqua regia.
To get a piece of gold, you need to use:
10 pouches of gold dust + “Gold Precipitant” + “Aqua Regia” = a piece of gold.
The nuggets and pieces of gold you get can be sold to a special NPC. The sale price depends on their weight.
“Gold Mining” skill
Leveling up the “Gold Mining” skill directly affects your efficiency. As the skill level increases, so does the amount of gold mined and the average weight of the nuggets you get.
However, the skill level does not change the price of one gram of gold. The price multiplier stays fixed.
Gold prices
The value of mined resources is calculated based on their weight:
nugget: weight × $16;
piece of gold: weight × $1000.
So leveling up your gold mining skill makes the job more efficient by increasing the amount of material mined and the weight of nuggets, but it does not change the set sale multiplier.
Mining location: a special gold mining zone in the Wasteland.
Drop-off point: a special NPC.
Price: fixed, calculated based on the weight of the gold mined.
